On January 17, 2004, the Team Bergamo Demonstration Team performed at the Action
Martial Arts Trade Show and Expo Mega Martial Arts Weekend at the invitation of
event promoter Alan Goldberg.
The thousands in attendance were treated to a weekend filled with
seminars by the top Martial Arts competitors and Masters in the World. There
were over 50 booths with vendors displaying their newest merchandise and
concepts for the Martial Arts community. The Team Bergamo Demonstration Team
was slated as the finale to the 2-day event held at the Tropicana hotel and
casino in Atlantic City, NJ.
The 17-member team had prepared for over 48 hours for the intricate
demonstration, and it showed as the team executed a near flawless performance.
The demonstration, Mirabile Visu II, was the latest in a long series of the
team's unique and one of a kind demonstrations that incorporate Extreme
Breaking, Self-Defense, Gymnastics, Weapons manipulation, and forms
choreographed to music.
The 8 and half minute demonstration Mirabile Visu II was
choreographed by Master Serrano to Creed's "Who's Got My Back". From the
opening of Tai Chi sword performed exquisitely by Master Ralph Bergamo, to the
intricate fighting stick routine executed by Jonathan Hardwicke and Kelly
Pearce, to the smashing of piles of concrete by Earl Douty, Raphael Velez,
Colin Thompson, and Clinton Murphy, audiences were wowed by the nonstop action.
Ending as it began, with Tai Chi Sword, the music died and the team
was greeted with cheers and applause from the hundreds in attendance. After
leaving the stage, team members were approached by many for autographs and
future show information. Team Bergamo will next travel to Columbus, Ohio in
March for the Arnold Martial Arts World Games, one of the largest tournaments
in the World.
The team will be competing in a multitude of divisions as well as
performing a demonstration in front of the tens of thousands that are estimated
to be in attendance. Master Serrano and Master Bergamo, along with senior team
members, are also in charge of running the Breaking Divisions, which will be
held on Sunday.
