Filipino Kun Tao -

Rossi Kun Tao System :

Filipino Kun Tao is a Self-Defense based Martial Art originating in the Philippines. Kun Tao originated in southern Mindanao, around the year 1365. The system was developed to defend against invaders from the neighboring islands in that region. It was not until 1521 when Ferdinand Magellan discovered the Philippines, that outsiders first became aware of Kun Tao and the other martial arts that are native to the Philippine Islands. The Rossi Kun Tao System was added to the name of our specific training as a memorial to our Late Grand Master Joseph Rossi who brought Kun Tao to the United States and added his own blend of Western Boxing, Aikido, Savate, Judo and Ju-Jitsu, to make the art even more effective on all levels.

Filipino Kun Tao/The Rossi Kun Tao System focuses on self-defense training, in-close limb destruction, the strengthening of the body and the heart of the practitioner, and the survival mentality needed to succeed in a real life confrontation. Another intense part of Kun Tao is the Art of Breaking. Kun Tao practitioners use breaking as a way to hone their strikes to be as quick and devastating as possible. The top breakers in the World are members of Team Bergamo which practice the art of Filipino Kun Tao/The Rossi Kun Tao System.
