About Grandmaster Andrew Fanelli

With over 40 years of expertise in the martial arts profession, there is no doubt that Grandmaster Fanelli is an excellent instructor for those wishing to develop discipline in the art.

Andrew was born and raised in Los Gatos, California to a large Italian family. As one of seven children, he undoubtedly learned to fight for a variety of things at a young age, but while having fun. Grandmaster Fanelli’s father was a professional boxer, and it was thanks to him that Andrew was introduced to martial arts. Andrew trained for nearly five years with the owner of a downtown San Jose Garden City boxing club. Andrew became drawn to Tae Kwon Do, however, when his mother enrolled her younger brother in Tae Kwon Do lessons in 1982. Amazingly, Tae Kwon Do began to pique his interest far more than boxing. In 1982, with the agreement of his father, his mother enrolled him in Tae Kwon Do lessons.

As Grandmaster Fanelli grew in age and ability, he was faced with real choices that weren’t always straightforward. Andrew started working with his father, who had an environmental background when he was just 13 years old. Andrew got his first job outside his father’s company in 1996 when he started his career in high tech security and private investigations. However, it became apparent fairly quickly that this was not Andrew’s passion.

When Grandmaster Fanelli launched his Tae Kwon Do studio in April 1997, he was operating as a sole proprietor, teaching all classes and running the business independently. He worked 30-40 hours a week at the studio in addition to his full-time job in high-tech security and private investigations. Grandmaster Fanelli continued for three years until he decided in January 2000 to devote all his attention to his craft and his passion: All Pro Tae Kwon Do.

Grandmaster Andrew Fanelli was inducted into the Master’s Hall of Fame in Costa Mesa, California in the summer of 2012. Grandmaster Andrew Fanelli was also named the 2008 Los Gatos Businessman of the Year by the “City of Los Gatos”. Grandmaster Andrew Fanelli graced the cover of “Tae Kwon Do Times Magazine” in September 2009.
