VeShawn Champion returns March 25 at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia

Welterweight prospect VeShawn Champion (2-0, 1 KO), who is advised by legendary Freeway Rick Ross, will make his 2022 debut against DeAngelo Cunningham (1-2), March 25, at 2300 Arena in Philadelphia, PA. The scheduled four-round fight is promoted by Rodney Rice of RDR Promotions.

“It’s exciting to be back in action, especially under the Team Freeway Boxing banner,” said Champion, a native of Dayton, Ohio.

“I’m excited to fight in Philadelphia because I’ve been training here with Jaron “Boots” Ennis for the past few weeks. His dad and trainer Bozy Ennis is also my head trainer. Together we gave each other a great fight and I’m getting better every day. Training with the elite Ennis family has raised my game. I’m ready to put on a great performance and show everyone what I am.

Champion turned heads in his last fight by stopping undefeated prospect Rashad Killpatrick with a third-round technical knockout. The fight upended many people’s standards and laid the groundwork for Champion to gain strong support in the sport.

“My last fight showed my heart, and it showed that I have what it takes to be what my last name says, a world champion,” VeShawn continued. “A lot of people joke with me that my nickname is ‘world champion’, and I plan to do just that, become world champion.”

“We have big plans for VeShawn, and I know he’s in great shape for this fight,” said Freeway Rick Ross, who advises Champion. “All the great work he did with ‘Boots’ and his dad Bozy prepared him perfectly for war. Bozy is a great trainer and VeShawn looks like a monster. Together we’re going to bring a lot of attention to this event. We have many fans who will be there to support it.
